 8/1   8/1    National Night Out - Wildwood Crest 
The Borough of Wildwood Crest Police Department will host a fun-filled evening of free activities for the entire family as part of the National Night Out campaign. The event will be held at Centennial Park, located at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Festivities will include DJ entertainment, food, games, prizes, giveaways and more for the entire family. Moon bounces, a face painter and a dunk tank will be included in the fun. Representatives from the Wildwood Crest Police Department, Fire Department, Ambulance Corps, Beach Patrol and Recreation Department, as well as a handful of Cape May County agencies, will all partake in the event. Emergency vehicles from a variety of departments from both Wildwood Crest and Cape May County will line the Centennial Park area. For more information, contact the police department at 609.522.2456.

A fun event for infants and toddlers (up to 2 years old) to show off their speedy crawling or "waddling" technique on the day before the official Wildwoods Baby Parade! A Wildwoods tradition since 1909! Registration at Wildwoods Convention Center from 4:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. No entries accepted after 5:30 p.m. Judging occurs while participants are lined up in the circle in front of the Convention Center. Line-up begins at 5:30 p.m., parade steps off at 6 p.m. SHARP and proceeds up the Wildwoods Boardwalk to 16th Street in North Wildwood. Complimentary trolley service will be available throughout the parade to transport participants and families between parking areas in Wildwood and 16th Street. FREE! {Rain date is Thursday.} Please take note when making your decision for participation: 1. CUTEST BABY BOY (under 12 months, undecorated stroller) – Judged on Baby’s Face; not what baby is wearing. 2. CUTEST BABY GIRL (under 12 months, undecorated stroller) – Judged on baby’s face; not what baby is wearing. 3. DECORATED BABY CARRIAGE (1 or 2 children, up to 2 years old) – Judged on carriage and child’s presentation. 4.  8/2   8/11    Hobie Mini-Mega North American Championships ~ NEW! 
The 2017 Hobie ®Mini-Mega North American Championships will consist of Hobie Waves, Hobie 14, Hobie 16 Youth, Hobie Women, Hobie 17, and Hobie 18 on the beautiful Wildwoods' beaches. Morey’s Organization Mariners Landing Beach Club will be the “Host Site” for the event. This will be a 10-day event for the Hobie Wave, 14, 16 Youth, Women, 17, 18 North American Championship. The racing schedule is as follows...August 3-5: Hobie 14 and Hobie 16 Women; August 6: lay day (no racing); August 7-9: Hobie Waves and Hobie 16 Youth; August 7-11: Hobie 17 and Hobie 18. Five boats will be required to be pre-registered 45 days prior to event per class. There will be a Welcome Party on Wednesday evening and a Final Banquet on Saturday evening for the 3-day event. The Lifeguards of the Wildwoods will wear the pink “Cure at the Shore” t-shirt and the same t-shirt will be available to the public for a $10 donation to the Susan G. Komen® Central and South Jersey. The goal is to “PINK OUT” the Jersey Shore. 100% of the profits will go to Susan G. Komen fight against breast cancer. Multiple area county and city shelters along with rescues will be present to show case dogs for adoption, and will feature discounted dog adoption fees all day! Help us find a “fur”ever home and clear out the shelters! (While the day is meant to help place dogs, all standard procedure for adoption will be followed.) In addition to the dog adoption day, the Sandy Paws Dog Festival will feature friendly attractions such as a dog fashion/talent show, the Wildwood doggie Olympics, access to the Wildwood Dog Park, ice treats for the pooches, and multiple retailers for all your dog needs. You are cordially invited to celebrate the Wedding of the Sea.The celebration will begin at St. Ann’s Church, 2900 Atlantic 4 pm will be a prelude of musical selections performed by the NDDLM Music Ministry and accompanying orchestra. The vigil mass celebrating the Assumption of Mary into heaven follows at 4:30. Immediately following mass, the procession to the ocean will begin. Once at the water’s edge, Wildwood lifeguards will take the bishop into the tide where he will bless the ocean by throwing a ring of flowers. A tradition started in Venice, Italy in the 1400’s. A gold ring would be tossed into the ocean ‘Marrying’ it to the land. This symbolic gesture shows the significance the ocean has on the land in all Shore towns. A union so very important today as it was then. All are welcome to celebrate!!

The new arena configuration will have you closer than ever to the action. On the court, the Globetrotters bring a one-of-a-kind show that is unrivaled in the world of family entertainment. Every game will showcase incredible ball handling wizardry, rim-rattling dunks, trick shots, hilarious comedy and unequaled fan interaction. After the game, Globetrotter stars will sign autographs and take photos with fans. The Globetrotters are offering a 2-hour Basketball Skills Clinic at the Wildwoods Convention Center from 10 a.m. until noon daily. The clinic is led by Globetrotters players and is designed to take fans ages 6 to 12 behind the magic of the Globetrotters' skills, and participants will also learn about the importance of staying active and eating healthy. Participants in the clinic do not need prior basketball experience. A spot in the Skills Clinic costs $49 and includes a voucher for one complimentary ticket to any of the four games in Wildwood (valued up to $45.) Operation Beachhead & American Legion Post #184 will be hosting this annual event from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on the beach behind the Wildwoods Convention Center. Open to all current and past military and their families, the event provides a variety of beach activities including adaptive surfing, kayaking, paddle-boarding and other ocean sports geared to help those with physical & emotional challenges the opportunity to participate in a safe and viable manner. Tri the Wildwoods: Storm the Boards, Run the Piers! Event will feature a Triathlon, 5K and Kids Race starting at 6:30 a.m. at 15th St. in North Wildwood. Whether you decide to race the Sprint or International distance, run in the 5K, or have your child participate in the Kids Race, we’re confident you will have an experience to remember. All participants receive an awesome t-shirt and medal as well as a HOT breakfast buffet immediately following the finish. SPRINT = .25 mile swim, 10 mile bike & 3.1 mile run. The 5k run will take place along the Wildwoods Boardwalk beginning at Wildwood sign at Rio Grande Avenue.
